Dav de Oro’s day of thanksgiving

Cristina E. Alivio

AS THANKSGIVING to the media and information officers in Davao Region for helping promote the renaming of Compostela Valley, the Davao de Oro Provincial Information Office tapped several skilled workers to pamper them last December 17, at Magnaga Waters Resort in Magnaga, Pantukan, Davao de Oro.

More than 100 press people had benefitted from free haircut, manicure, pedicure, and massage, and free dental services from the Department of Health (DOH)-Davao de Oro.

An herbal oil and dietary supplement company also added a boost to an already lively activity as it distributed samples of its products.

Part of the activity is the talk of Roy Geonzon, Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas Davao Chapter chairperson, on the essence of the KBP and how to be part of it.

Items such as flat iron, electric fan, rice cooker, and keypad mobile phones, not to mention kitchen ware stuff, were raffled off.

Several media people also shared their talents during the activity.

Before the party started, the media and information officers were distributed with Davao de Oro t-shirts so that all would be wearing it during the party.

The event also was a way to boost the camaraderie of different media people from different news outfits.

As a result, all went home feeling refreshed and thankful knowing that the participants had a share in making the renaming of Compostela Valley into Davao de Oro successful.
