TWO drug personalities from Marawi City were killed in a drug bust in Zonta, Seaside, Purok 4-A, Barangay 23-C, Boulevard, Davao City Tuesday, December 10.

Almost a million worth of illegal drugs were seized.

Based on the Sta. Ana Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit's (SDEU) report, the slain suspects, who were involved in a massive illegal drug operation, were identified as Minsuari Abubakar Cairoding alias Mako, 23, single, unemployed and resident of Barangay Sugod in Marawi, Lanao del Sur, and one alias Jalil.

Around 12:35 a.m. of December 10, the anti-illegal drug operation was conducted by the SDEU where a poseur buyer was able to procure one sachet of substance believed to be shabu from Cairoding in exchange of P3,000.

Cairoding then exchanged fire with the operating team after the agent introduced himself as a policeman. His cohort, on the other hand, also tried to shoot the poseur buyer, thus the SDEU was forced to shoot the two suspects, who later succumbed to gunshot wounds in different parts of their bodies.

Recovered from the scene were one unit homemade .38 caliber revolver without serial number and loaded with four pieces live ammunition and one fired empty cartridge case, one unit Armscor 202 .38 SPL caliber revolver with five pieces live ammunition and one fired empty cartridge case, five pieces fired cartridge cases of caliber 9mm and two pieces fired bullet slugs.

Also recovered from the body of Cairoding were 15 sachets of shabu, four small plastic sachets containing the same and three pieces of P1,000 bill as buy-bust money. The recovered drug items have an estimated street market value of P912,000.

The police said they received information about the illegal drug trading of the suspects from the Barangay Intelligence Network. Upon learning the intelligence report, they conducted monitoring on their activities.

It was also learned that the suspects were engaged in bulk delivery of illegal drugs such as shabu aside from drug peddling in any other platforms.
