TWO wedding organizers accused of allegedly scamming their victims are still nowhere to be found after several attempts by the Anti-Scam Unit Davao (ASU-Davao) to reach out to them.

In recent months, several couples have aired their complaints on social media against wedding organizers allegedly scamming them.

ASU Head Simplicio Sagarino said as of September 20, the non-appearance of the scammers has caused a delay in resolving the case. The alleged scammer cannot also be located.

“Amo na gihaturan og invitation letter ang respondent sa ilang gihatag nga address (We already sent an invitation letter to the respondent based on their given address), pero wala na didto, nag-rent lang man to didto (but unfortunately, they no longer live there since they were only renting),” Sagarino said in a text message sent to SunStar Davao.

Sagarino said for the case to move forward, complainants should be able to give the right address where the demand letter from ASU will be delivered.

“Para ma-file ang kaso, ilang sigurohon ang address sa respondent (To be able to file a case, the address should be correct),” Sagarino said.

Sagarino said, five out of the 80 couples who have been scammed by the recent wedding scammer have already filed complaints at their office.

He also said complainants should include the staff of the alleged scammer.

Earlier, Sagarino said the alleged scammers may face syndicated estafa. KSD
