THE Davao City Covid-19 Task Force said on Wednesday, May 11, that the second booster dose is now open for frontliners and senior citizens based on the directive given by the Department of Health (DOH).

Covid-19 Task Force Spokesperson Dr. Michelle Schlosser confirmed that those who are medical frontliners or belong to A1 priority group, senior citizens or A2 group, and adults with comorbidities or A3 group can avail of the free second booster dose vaccine.

“Our first announcement, the second booster dose is only for immuno compromised but we already have the directive from DOH na i-open na siya (to open it) for A1, A2, and A3, so they can avail of the second booster dose,” Schlosser said during a radio interview.

The second booster dose should be administered only after at least three months from the date of the first booster dose.

As of May 6, the Task Force has recorded a total of 252,267 individuals administered with the first booster dose which is equivalent to 19.24 percent of the target total population of 80 percent or out of 1,311008 fully immunized individuals.

For the rollout of the second booster that started on May 4, there are a total of 734 or 0.29 percent of the total number of first booster dose administered.

Schlosser said the second booster dose is available in operational vaccination hubs in the city catering to 12 years old and above, including Gaisano Grand Mall Toril, Abreeza Mall, NCCC Mall Buhangin which is open during mall hours; and Davao Crocodile Park and Peoples Park Davao, which is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

In addition, a fast lane was opened in Crocodile Park for drivers, and another in Peoples Park for business process outsourcing (BPO) and bank employees.

“We have already created a fast lane para mas paspas ilang pagbakuna (to fast-track their vaccination),” Schlosser said since drivers, bankers, and BPO employees have a tight and odd working schedule.
