53 PUIs in Davao Region

THE Department of Health (DOH) Davao reported a total of 53 patients under investigation (PUIs) in Davao Region while a person under monitoring (PUM) climbed to 1,186 as of March 16.

Based on DOH Davao update as of 6 p.m. Monday, of the number of PUIs, 24 are currently admitted in the two state-run hospitals in the region namely the Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) in Tagum City and Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) in Davao City.

DOH likewise said that a total of 29 PUIs have been released after their laboratory results tested negative for the dreaded coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

On the number of PUM, DOH Davao has cleared a total of 187 individuals. One of them died due to trauma caused by a falling accident and not related to Covid-19.

A total of 1,009 personalities are also under observation. PUMs are asymptomatic individuals with appropriate exposure history. They are advised to undergo home quarantine for 14 days to monitor the development of symptoms.

In Davao Region, there is already one confirmed case of a patient positive for the fatal respiratory illness. She is a 21-year-old Filipina currently confined in an isolation facility at DRMC. The hospital, meanwhile, reported that the patient is recovering.

Meanwhile, Davao City remains free from Covid-19.
