Businessman shot in Davao

A BUSINESSMAN was wounded in a shooting incident Tuesday morning, October 8, in Barangay Angliongto, Davao City.

Police identified the victim as Paul Andre Fabian Diaz, 27, a resident of Barangay Wilfredo Aquino, Agdao District, Davao City. The shooting happened at 7:28 a.m. along Mamay Road.

The victim was shot after dropping off his child in a school. He was still able to drive his car to a police outpost to ask for help. He was later brought to a hospital for treatment.

Police are looking into business conflict as possible motive in the incident.

"Duha ka unidentified gunmen ang sakay sa motorsiklo, nga maoy atong gitutokan karon sa atong imbestigasyon (Our investigation is currently focusing on the two unidentified gunmen who were riding a motorcycle)," said Police Major Reuben Libera, chief of Sasa Police Station.

Libera said investigation is ongoing.
