Davao authorities nab 2 travelers for illegal drugs

SECURITY forces in Davao City arrested two travelers for possessing illegal drugs with an estimated street value of P84,800 on Sunday morning, March 26.

In a report from Task Force Davao, security personnel manning the AFP-PNP Border Control Point in Lasang, Bunawan seized two sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 5.3 grams

The two individuals were on board a private vehicle. One suspect is a resident of Marbel, Kidawapan City while the other is a resident of Indangan, Davao City.

In a statement, Task Force Commander Col. Darren E. Comia lauded the troops who made the apprehension in lieu of the intensified checkpoint operations in all border control points amidst the staging of the Ironman 70.3 in Davao City.

The suspects and confiscated evidence were immediately turned over to the Bunawan Police Station for proper disposition.

The arrested individuals will be facing charges for violations under the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. RGL
