THE City Government of Davao increased its revenue collection by P27 million this year covering the period January to August compared to last year’s revenue for the same period.

City Economic Enterprises Head Maribeth Lumactod said the increase is due to the increase of the regulatory fees of income generating sources and city owned enterprises.

From January to August this year, the city collected P122.8 million compared to last year’s P95.5 million for the same period.

“The increase ng mga collections is due to the increase of the regulatory fees ng income-generating units as per ammendment ng local revenue code of Davao City,” Lumactod said in a text message to SunStar Davao on Thursday, November 1.

The Revised Revenue Code increasing regulatory fees was approved last December 2017.

The city-owned enterprises are the public markets, Davao City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT) in Ecoland, Sta. Ana port, public cemeteries, Davao City Recreation Center (DCRC), Magsaysay Park, and slaughterhouses.

The market operations generated the highest income with a total of P82,197,86.79. This includes market fees for stalls and rentals, fines and penalties and miscellaneous fees.

The slaughterhouse operations recorded the second highest income with P18,843,191.47 from coral fees, slaughter fees, fines and penalties and gizzard cleaning.

Third highest amount of income generated came from other businesses at P8,813,701.22 which included the rentals of Uyanguren vendors, barbeque stalls in Magallanes, Roxas Night Market stalls, and the electricity.

The months with highest collections this year were April, May, and July due to the full implementation on payment policies, according to Lumactod.
