THE Davao City Police Office (DCPO) will call for a conference with a motorcycle company due to an increase in cases of motorcycle theft last year.

"Magkakaroon din tayo ng conference pa with the Honda, we are not questioning them security features pero yon talaga yung mostly nawawala (We are going to have a conference with Honda, we are not questioning the security features of their unit but most of motors stolen were their units)," DCPO spokesperson Senior Inspector Teresita Gaspan said during the Armed Forces of the Philippines-Philippine National Police (AFP-PNP) press conference Wednesday, January 9.

Gaspan said there were 30 cases in 2018 compared to only 20 in 2017. Most of the units stolen were Honda XRM and Honda Wave.

She said that most of the cases of motornapping usually happened while the unit is parked unattended in an establishment or residential area.
