DAVAO City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said that the City Government is willing to give assistance to the family of the two-year-old boy who was killed on the spot after being ran over by an armored truck along San Pedro Street, Davao City, last Thursday, May 10.

The two-year-old boy, Loviege Pangantihon, was crossing the pedestrian lane with his mother Angeli Pelaez around 11 a.m., Thursday, when he ran back right under the front wheel of a Dasia 3007 armored vehicle.

"The city government will give assistance automatically to whoever died once its family will ask help from the City Government. Our assistance is automatic through our Lingap Para sa Mahirap Program for burial assistance," she said in an interview during the Peace 911 launching at Paquibato district, May 10.

Lingap Para saMahirap Program is the city government's program to give medical, hospital or burial assistance to Dabawenyos.

Before the incident's CCTV footage went viral, Duterte-Carpio said that they will check with the owner of armored vehicle and make them accountable for the accident, if proven guilty.

"With regards to their attitude (armored vehicle drivers), I will ask Public Safety and Security Command Center (PSSCC) to sit down with companies that operate armored vehicles," she added.
