DCOTT eyes advanced booking for bus trips

DAVAO City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT) is planning to propose an advance booking for the convenience of bus passengers served by the members of the Southern Mindanao Bus Operation Association (SMBOA).

DCOTT head Aisa Usop said in an interview with SunStar Davao on Wednesday, November 28, that one of the reasons that she is proposing the plan is to avoid the sudden influx of passengers.

She said during the peak season a lot of passengers are coming to the terminal that leads to the congestion of the passengers. This is also caused by the fact that there is only one bus terminal in Davao Region.

Usop said they have noted that passengers also do not fall in line despite being instructed to.

She said one of the advantages of the proposed plan is that the passengers will be efficiently catered to as they already booked in advanced.

“If we can implement this advanced booking, mahibal-an na pud sa bus companies if how many buses are they needed to palargahon for the day (If we can implement this advanced booking, the bus companies will know the number of buses they will be deploying)," Usop said.
