Fire razes 25 houses in Barangay 5-A

THE Davao City Social Services and Development Office (CSWDO) continues to validate the names of victims of the fire in Sto. Niño, Barangay 5-A, Bankerohan, Thursday morning, November 18, 2021.

Together with the staff of Barangay 5-A, CSWDO’s Kusina ng Bayan conducted community cooking to provide hot meals to the victims of the fire.

According to the initial investigation of authorities, the fire started in Purok 17 around 6:35 a.m. inside a house made of light materials. Because the house was close to other houses, the fire quickly spread.

Around 10:10 a.m., the fire was declared under control. No one was killed in the said incident.

Further investigation is still ongoing to pinpoint the cause of the fire that razed 25 houses.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
