THE reported missing person identified as Imelda Hayahay was presented to the media Friday, November 9, by Mabini Mayor Reynaldo Dayanghirang.

Hayahay, who was last seen on October 15 at her residence in Barangay Pindasan in Mabini, Compostela Valley, belied reports that she was a member of Hugpong sa mga Mag-uuma sa Walog Compostela (Humawac).

She also clarified that neither the Armed Forces of the Philippines nor the New People’s Army kidnapped her.

Hayahay said she did not recognize her captors because each of their faces was covered by a bonnet.

Earlier, Meggie Nolasco, executive director of Salugpongan Ta’ Tanu Igkanogon Community Learning Center (STTICLCI), accused soldiers of the 71st Infantry Battalion (IB) of having abducted Hayahay.

She was allegedly brought to Surigao and released on October 18.

Meanwhile, Hayahay pleaded to her daughter, Jeany Rose, a teacher of a Salugpungan school in Maco, Compostela Valley, to return home. She said they have lost contact with her.
