THE management of Gaisano Grand Mall in Buhangin, Davao City clarified that there was no fire incident inside the mall Sunday morning, December 29.

"We wish to inform our valued shoppers that the alarm at our Gaisano Grand Citygate Mall Buhangin was not due to fire," the mall management said in a statement posted Sunday on their Facebook.

The statement said there was a technical problem and personnel of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Davao City responded, but this has been resolved.

They also allayed the fears of the public on their safety following the incident.

"We assure the public of a safe and happy shopping!" the management further said.

Based on the report of Buhangin Fire Station, the incident was reported to their office at around 8:52 a.m. and was put out at 9:13 a.m.

No damage nor casualties were reported.

The BFP said the incident involved a circuit breaker in the mall's electrical room located at the third floor with electrical arcing as the probable cause.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
