FIVE days after the 15-day grace period given by President Rodrigo Duterte, Police Regional Office (PRO)-Davao said that they have not yet conducted a massive manhunt pending the master list of heinous crime convicts (HCC) from the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) and Department of Justice (DOJ).

In an interview with PRO-Davao spokesperson Police Major Jason Baria Monday, September 23, he said they expect the master list and consolidated names of HCC.

While waiting for the order coming from the higher headquarters, they transferred the HCC surrenderers to the Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF) and started conducting monitoring on the location of those who did not surrender to the police.

Once the order is released, PRO-Davao will immediately conduct apprehension.

A total of 17 individuals surrendered to PRO-Davao as of Monday. Nine of which are in Davao City Police Office, three in Davao del Norte Police Provincial Office (DNPPO), three in Davao del Sur PPO, one in Davao Oriental PPO, and one in Davao Occidental PPO.

In their list, 76 have addresses in Davao region.

For the total number of surrenderers at DPPF, they noted 455 HCCs and 24 of them are residing in Davao region.

Some eight HCCs turned themselves in to different units under PRO-Davao though they are not residents here.

They are just waiting for the remaining 35 to surface. (JCR)
