THE Organic Farmers’ Market at Rizal Park, Davao City resumed on April 1, 2022, after two years of suspension due to the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.

The Organic Farmers’ Market offers an array of organically grown vegetables, ornamental plants, flowers, and artisan goods like jams and wine, among others, produced by local farmers in Davao City.

In an online statement on April 1, the Interfacing Development Interventions for Sustainability (Idis) said the farmers market allows local organic farmers to market their own products and engage in “income-generating projects” to help them recover from their affected livelihood because of the pandemic.

“The advocacy and commitment of organic farmers to produce healthy and safe food for consumers beyond the immediate, economic benefits should be acknowledged,” Idis said.

According to an online post by the Davao City Agri Office, the Organic Farmers’ Market will be open every Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
