Preemptive evacuation in landslide prone areas

THE Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office on Monday morning, April 16, advised pre-emptive evacuation to residents in landslide prone areas amid the inclement weather.

"Sa atong ka-sapaan safe level, pero kaning panahon karon, kaning hinay-hinay nga ulan unya continuous mao ni possible nga naay landslide. Just this morning around 6:30 nag-advise ta ug pre-emptive evacuation sa mga landslide prone areas, like in the Quinones compound sa Matina Crossing, Damayan sa Buhangin, diri sa may Maa (Our rivers are at safe levels, but this continuous drizzle can cause landslide. He said that they already have ordered responders to monitor the area.

Bustillo, as of Monday morning, April 16, informed that the residents only transferred to a safer place.

He also added that despite the fact that the water just remained at the safe level, they conduct continuous monitoring since there is also a Low Pressure Area affecting the city. (KVC)
