AN OFFICIAL of the Davao City Engineer’s Office (CEO) said the reconstruction of the overpass near Victoria Plaza Mall along J.P. Laurel Avenue is still awaiting approval due to a pending cost-estimate request from suppliers.

Engineer Joseph Dominic S. Felizarta, CEO officer-in-charge, said their office has been making an estimated cost request from their supplier so that they can lift the height clearance of the overpass.

"Sa pagkakaron ang noted gyud nga mubo na kaayo ang clearance is the Victoria Plaza (The only overpass who has a very low (vertical) clearance is the one located near Victoria Plaza),” Felizarta said during the Ispeak media forum Thursday, October 4.

He also said that their office needed the estimated cost from their suppliers so that they can provide the fund for the immediate repair and adjustment of clearance for the overpass.

Meanwhile, Felizarta said CEO plans to put up a signage for the overpass vertical clearance so that the public will be aware.

It can be recalled that in a social media post, a trailer truck jammed the overpass near Victoria Plaza Mall along J.P Laurel Avenue on September 29, 2018.
