Still no lead on slay of NGO member

PERSONNEL of the Mati City Police Station are still investigating the death of a non-government organization member whose cadaver was found in Barangay Tagabakid in Mati City on Sunday, June 24.

The victim was identified as Epimethius Madanlo Jr., alias Benjie, 52, a Kabayan member, resident of Purok Makabipa at National Housing Authority (NHA), Barangay Dahican in Mati City, Davao Oriental.

Initial investigation revealed that the victim succumbed to several gunshot wounds in the different parts of his body.

Report obtained from Police Regional Office (PRO) in Davao Region showed that the cadaver of the victim was found in a canal at Crossing Ompao in Barangay Tagabakid around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday.

According to the residents nearby, they heard several gunshots and the sound of a speeding motorcycle at around 8:30 p.m. on June 23, Saturday.

The cadaver of the victim was brought to Padilla Funeral Home in Mati City for proper disposition.
