UNHERALDED Gresalje Saldo of Baguio City captured the title of the 3rd APM Online Bullet Chess Tournament held via lichess.org on Saturday, April 4.

Saldo, with username gresalijesaldo, amassed 20 points in eight matches to prevail over John Gerard Acedo (john_gerard_acedo) of Buhangin, Davao City and Mark John Centillo (MarkJohnCentillo) of General Santos City who settled for second and third, respectively.

Acedo earned 18 points, while Centillo scored 17 in the online chess tournament sponsored by APM Mindanao Chessmates.

Saldo lost to Centillo in the third round but he defeated Carl Jason Huliganga, Ervin De Asis, Nofre Reyes, Ian Llanto, Dillon Intilla, Chris Yap and Charlie Sarigumba.

The top three winners received GCash prizes from the organizers.

Meanwhile, Negros Oriental's Junaico Segismar emerged champion in the GMCI Hardware Online Bullet Chess competition also played via lichess.org on Sunday, April 5.

Segismar garnered a total of 28 points in 10 outings, besting Anthony Mosqueda of Toril, Davao City, Denzel John Amar of Trading Boulevard, Davao City and Harrison Maamo of Matina, Davao City who placed second, third and fourth, respectively.

Mosqueda also earned 28 points while Amar had 24 and Maamo with 22.

The champion defeated Reynaldo Quinonez, Christian Aquino, Eddie Resureccion, Jr., Hevsky Reyes, NM Covid_Killer, Jordan Gadayan, Joey Florendo and Quinonez. Segismar, however, succumbed to Jeffrey Vegas in their sixth round collision.

GCash load of P200, P100, P50 and P30 were awarded to the winners in the event organized by Mark John Centillo.
