DEFENDING champion Ateneo de Davao University (Addu) Blue Knights kept its title after a lopsided 49-30 victory over arch-rival Assumption College of Davao (ACD) Blue Warriors in the Future Star League finals Friday evening, November 16, at the Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) Gym.

The back-to-back feat came on the heels of routing Stella Maris Academy of Davao (Smad), 49-29, in the semifinals.

The Blue Knights were thankful not just for the win but also for the learning experience they gained during the season.

Having to maintain its unbeaten slate in seven outings before the finals, the Addu kids played with their hearts.

Samuel Nathan Torres sizzled with 13 points, seven steals, and five rebounds and five assists in the finals to romp away with the most valuable player (MVP) award. The Harry Hipolito and Frankie Argoncillo-mentored Blue Knights also leaned on the services of Eio Julianne D. Rosco, Tristan Raphael Bibay, Jose Julio L. Garcia, IV, Felix Justin O. Domingo, Sean Andrew Hilay, Jethro Matthew V. Andrion, Enrico Martin, Matt Talania, Jhian Gerald Cornejo, Charles Luis Ferrando and Alex Christian Almario.

Most of Addu's roster also played in the Davao City Athletic Association (DCAA) 2018 Meet.

Hipolito and Argoncillo with some of Addu's official line up will represent Davao City in the Davao Regional Athletic Association (Davraa) Meet slated in January 2019.

The parents also played a vital role in the team's past and current feats.

Cherrylume and Mark Anthony Cayetano Construction sponsored the cagefest.
