TWO highest-ranked teams Brazil and Belgium's inevitable Fifa World Cup 2018 quarterfinals showdown at 2 a.m. today would definitely be a must-see.

While everybody else would think that both teams are even in resources, the fact that World No. 2 Brazil already has five World Cup trophies and No. 3 Belgium has none yet is another reason not to miss the match.

Davao Aguilas Football Club coach Melchor Anzures, in a Facebook interview yesterday, said both teams have young and aggresive players.

You wouldn't know who will score because all Brazilians are capable of scoring anywhere inside the penalty box)," Anzures said.

Buboy Arrieta of Sports Amusement and Recreation Corporation (Sparcorp) at the Azuela Cove, however, said: "Belguim I think will win it by a hairline."

Arrieta said Brazil is inspired, adding, "But they do not adjust personnel even if they aren't effective while Belguim adjusts one to two players every match. That means the coach is studying the opponent."

He said that both squads are counter attacker teams. "Probably the best two teams in this World Cup. Whoever excecutes it best will win."

Arrieta also predicted that the semifinals will pit France against Sweden and Belgium against Croatia.

Davao Region Football Association president Erwin Protacio, for his part, said Brazil has the momentum to advance considering its convincing win over Mexico, 2-0, in the Round of 16. Belgium struggled in beating Japan, 3-2.

"The defense of Brazil can hold Belgium, even without Casemiro then they can win this game. Also from results of previous games, Brazil is improving and Belgium was nearly knocked out, seems like this is a trend," Protacio said.
