Davao batters rout Zamboanga, 18-0

TAGBILARAN City, Bohol - Defending champion Davao Prisaa men's baseball team, under multi-titled coach Ryan Sarabia of the University of Mindanao (UM), opened their three-peat bid on a high note by routing Zamboanga Peninsula Region, 18-0, at the Maribojoc Central Elementary School.

"This will be our last chance to get a three-peat. We attempted it many times before but we kept on failing," Sarabia said.

Davao pitcher Jester Dave Mansalayao, meanwhile, said they rely mainly

on their hitting abilities.

The Davao secondary cagers, on the other hand, escaped past Zamboanga Region, 72-65, in a see-saw battle at the Tagbilaran Barangay Dao Covered Court. The team eyes a second win when it collides with Caraga Region today.

Over at the Holy Name University, Davao Region men's basketball team, composed of players from Agro-Industrial Foundation College of the Philippines and Cor Jesu College of Digos City, thrashed Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Armm), 108-46.

Davao's men spikers, meanwhile, spanked Bicol Region 25-13, 25-16 and 25-21, at the University of Bohol.

Other games were still ongoing as of press time Monday, April 23.
