Davao City spikers rule Ceap 11 meet

DAVAO City boys and girls teams clinched the championship titles in the recently-concluded Davao Regional Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (Ceap) volleyball tournament held at the University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC) Bajada campus.

Davao City boys squad, coached by Dinri Yambao and Jesus Manaopanao, recovered from a second set loss to defeat Digos City, 25-21, 23-25, 25-23, while the Davao City volleybelles swept Digos City team, 25-16, 25-20.

Ateneo de Davao University's Lourdz Francis Magno, Only Canson, Eljune Marc Palconit, Lucio Thomas Tapia, Jules Leo Lapatis, Kobe Miranda, John Samuel Calanza, John Michael Lomarda, Elijah Johnson Pleños and Leandro Mapayo and Rysell Cris Villarte bannered the Davao City boys volleyball team that was reinforced by UIC's Dux Euan Yambao and Assumption College of Davao's Karlo Gabriyel Agaban.

Addu players Julia Angeles, Katrina Blanco, Jana Cane, Sam Castillones, Chancy Chavez, Takako Fujimoto, Jana Herrera, KJ Lumbatan, Yvanna Sulit, Lybe Yee, Keanna Adlao and Marie Silva composed the city girls team with coaches JC Velasquez and Jose Emilio Pastoriza at the helm.

Meanwhile, Mati and Davao del Norte placed third and fourth, respectively, in boys and girls divisions.

The regional champions will advance to the Mindanao Ceap meet slated in Cagayan de Oro City in a still undetermined venue.
