Davao jins collect finish 2nd overall

THE 21-member Kaizen Taekwondo Club of Davao City collected a total of nine gold medals, five silvers and five bronzes in the recently-concluded Mindanao Age Group Taekwondo Championships held in Butuan City.

The team, coached by Arturo Kaizen chief "Jeong" Lalican Jr., finished second overall behind champion Butuan City that went home with 10 golds.

Yvone Balansag, Khean Quilaton, Lois Ester Neo, Kelly Lada, Neil Jhon Balansag, Neil Heinz Sevilla, Marc Laurence Balansag, Heinrich Ureil Roberts and Jenesh Danaeca Valrio each copped a gold.

The city's silvers were courtesy of Myles Quilaton, Ellah Quilaton, Alvin Ibag, Maika Impas and Alexander Consuegra while Arnold Alesna,Angel Bacamante, Jenelle Ibag, Kelvin James Asumbrado and Ivory Jazz Calamba salvaged bronzes.

Lalican was assisted by former national team players Mary Anjelay Pelaez and May Joy Jonas.
