Davao Youth Basketball League, Liga Pinay to get underway on June 22

THE Davao Youth Basketball League (DYBL) 2019 will kick off at 1 p.m. on June 22 at the SkyGym of Gaisano Grand Citimall in Davao City.

Presented by Red Sports Events of Rael Diaz, the DYBL has a total of 32 teams entered in two categories - 16 in cadet and 16 in junior.

Competing in cadet division are bracket A - Davao Jones Academy, Ford Academy of the Arts, Philippine Women’s College of Davao and one reserved team; bracket B - Jesus J. Soriano National High School, St. Patrick Math Science School, BSHS, Crossing Bayabas National High School; bracket C - Pablo Lorenzo National High School, Lamb of God Sped Academy, Rizal Memorial Colleges and reserved team; bracket D - Holy Cross College of Sasa, Calinan National High School, SPC Ulas and Philippine Nikkei Jin Kai International School.

The Assumption College of Davao and Immanuel School of Davao are cadet reserved teams and they will have to draw lots during the opening ceremonies.

PWC, CNHS, SPPCI and DJA, meanwhile, lead the cast of their respective groups in junior category.

Diaz also bared that the Liga Pinay will also open on June 22. The girls basketball expects 10 teams but Ateneo de Davao University, PWC, Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School, ACD and F. Bustamante National High School confirmed so far.
