CEBU CITY -- Police Officer (PO) 1 Karen Kay Quilario and PO1 Lourdelyn Catubag of Davao del Norte leaned on their vast championship experience to beat Bayawan City rivals, 21-11, 21-14, in the Philippine National Games (PNG) 2018 women's beach volleyball gold medal match at the Fort San Pedro here Friday.

Quilario and Catubag, who have been playing partners for eight years now, earlier demolished Davao City's tandem of Glenda Agang and Lycha Ebon, 21-14, 21-18, in the semifinals.

Police Officer 1 Catubag, who is assigned at the Talaingod Police Station, said: "It's another victory, a great experience and exposure."

The PNG title is but another collection for the two lady cops who dominated the World Police and Fire Games women's beach volleyball held in Los Angeles, California and 2017 BVR national tournament as well as past editions of the National Prisaa Games and Nestea Beach Volleyball national finals.

Agang and Ebon salvaged the bronze via forfeiture since their Zambales rivals did not show up.

Davao City men's beach spikers Calvin Sarte and Jan Ashley Jacob bowed to Cebu Province's Kevin Juban and Jade Becaldo, 19-21, 21- 19, 13-15 in their finals showdown to claim the silver medal instead.

Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Commissioner Charles Raymond Maxey witnessed the event presented by PSC and sponsored by Smart and STI College.
