DC Apo team grabs 3 wins

THE Davao City (DC) Apo team grabbed three consecutive wins in the recent resumption of the Durians Tag League – Season 5 at Tionko field in this city.

DC Apo routed Ateneo de Davao-JHS, 30-15, after crushing SOS Children’s Village, 20-10, and Tibungco Empire-FBNHS, 15-0, in the second round of the tournament.

Philippine Rugby Football Union (PRFU) rugby development officer Blessie Kate Delos Santos said DC Apo and DC Datu Bago comprised the core of the Davao City teams for the Batang Pinoy Rugby National Leg.

DC Datu Bago led the juniors division with 12 points after eking out four wins and absorbing one loss while DC Apo was second with 10 points following three wins, one draw and one loss.

Trailing behind were 3-0-2 Tibungco Empire-FBNHS, 3-0-2 SOS Children’s Village, 1-0-4 Ateneo de Davao JHS and 0-1-4 Royal Valley Jrs.

DC Datu Bago pulled off wins over Tibungco Empire-FBNHS, 15-10, and Royal Valley Jrs, 15-10, but lost to SOS, 10-15.

In the seniors division, SOS paced with nine points.

Delos Santos said finals games is set on May 18 but venue has yet to be determined. (MLSA)
