ARTHUR John Galendez clinched the Datba June monthly finals tournament title at the SM Lanang Premier Bowling Center recently.

Twice-to-beat Galendez beat Jesrael Rule, 162-153, in their step-the-ladder finals showdown to pocket the P10,000 champion’s purse.

Galendez, with a 19 handicap, topped the six-game qualifying series as he struck for 1,253 pinfalls while Gabriel Velasco (1,222), Rule (1,143) and Virgilio Magdale (1,129) grabbed the next three spots.

In the step-the-ladder round, No. 3 Rule toppled Magdale, 224-168, to arrange a meeting with No. 2 Velasco whom he also subdued, 162-146, to force a championship match with Galendez.

Velasco also romped away with the top qualifier, highest single qualifying and highest single finals titles.

Meanwhile, Julius Cajis ruled the weekly tournament held Tuesday evening by rolling 572 pins after three games of the event organized by Davao Tenpin Bowlers Association (Datba).
