Chief referee and head judge Nell Jone Astudillo said Edna Rivera is the winning coach who will mentor the city's wushu sanda team to the Davao Region Athletic Association (Davraa) Meet 2019 to be held in Davao City late January next year.

Astudillo, Davao Region’s representative and coach under the Wushu Federation Philippines-PSC-NSA, said the city's Davraa-bound roster is a force to reckon with.

"Kusog man, samot na ang girls kay kasagaran naa nay experience sa Davraa og Palarong Pambansa (We have strong chances, especially the girls who already have Davraa and Palarong Pambansa experience)," he told SunStar Davao in a Facebook interview on Thursday, October 18.
