Maamo crowned bullet chess champ

DAVAO City’s Harison Maamo emerged champion in the National Arbiter Mark John Centillo Bullet Chess online tournament held recently via lichess.org.

Maamo, with lichess username harison_maamo2020, tallied a total of 38 points after 13 games.

He survived past fellow 38-pointer Aglipay Oberio (aglipay_oberio) of the Island Garden City of Samal (Igacos) via superior tiebreaks based on performance, 2570-2406) who settled for the runner-up honors instead.

A player with username cancerousplayer02 finished third with 36 points.

Maamo, of S.I.R. Matina, won his 12 matches over Oberio (twice), Albert Diola Jr., jezreel2020, Soul12, Edmar Villafuerte, cancerousplayer02 (twice), gensanweapon, Julius Ablin and PaspasPeroBanga.

He, however, bowed down to two chessers with usernames cancerousplayer02 and japjapjapjap in his third and second assignments, respectively.

The top two players received P100 and P50 GCash, respectively, in the chessfest organized by Centillo.

Harison Maamo currently has 11 wins and two losses.
