Manila team joins Hyenas footfest

A MANILA team composed of current and former members of the Philippine Azkals national football team will raise the level of competition in men's open event of the 1st Hyenas Football Festival set Saturday and Sunday at the Tionko Field.

Hyenas Football Club's Rex Rodriguez, during the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at The Annex of SM City Davao yesterday, said the likes of Antonio del Rosario and celebrity actor Daniel Matsunaga are joining the team from Manila for the Seven-A-Side tournament supported by Pwersa ng Bayaning Atleta (PBA) Representative Jericho "Koko" Nograles.

"A total of 18 teams are entered in the men's open. Davao teams will not be pushovers as they are also composed of some Davao Aguilas players and veterans," Rodriguez said in the vernacular.

The two-day tournament, sanctioned by Davao Region Football Association, also features the seven, eight, nine, 100, 11, 12, 16 and women's open divisions.
