Panabo jin bags gold

PANABO City jin Ella Mae Talite clinched a gold medal in the 2018 Batang Pinoy National Championships taekwondo competition yesterday at the University of Baguio.

She topped the kyorugi girls finweight division in the meet where arch-rivals Baguio City and Pangasinan collected identical three golds.

General Santos City's Paul Anthony Rodriguez, for his part, annexed two golds in cadet individual male and in cadet pair with Aleya Rayzal Labao.

Over at the Beneco Multi-Purpose Hall, Davao City chessers Kurt John Placencia and Nathalie Suter bowed to their respective first round rivals.

Fifth-seeded Placencia lost to top seed Daniel Quizon of Dasmariñas City in boys 15. The Dabawenyo was still playing the second round opposite Reishi Boy Polan of Tubigon, Bohol as of Tuesday, September 18.

Suter, seeded eighth, succumbed to Trisha Ann Paez of Sta. Rosa City. She will try to bounce back against her second round rival Jasmine Atienza of Bacolod.
