Tempra Battle champs named

AFTER five continuous intensity workouts, winners of the Tempra Battle of the Strongest national crossfit competition were declared on Saturday evening, May 26, at the Matina Town Square (MTS) Activity Center.

Rocky Dorjsembe, Kristen Lim, Wilmar Tumbali, Whenzy Rio, Grech Go and Chali Bas emerged champion in their respective division after doing a barbell complex, handstand walk course, stamina-tester, short workout sprint, and the combination of muscle ups and thrusters.

Dorjsembe of Cebu City emerged strongest in the men's RX division over Justin Hernandez of Manila and Nicho Mauricio of Davao City.

Kristen Lim of Manila had the biggest upset of the competition as she beat women's RX division defending champion Isabell Wolfe and Wan Jia Li of Pampanga City.

Manila bet Tumbali, for his part, won the men's scaled division over Christian Cabangbang of Iloilo City and Dabawenyo Joseph Mangulabnan.

In the distaff side, Whenzy Rio of Iloilo City took home the crown after outclassing Marga Ortiz of Manila and Rikki Saul of Pampanga City.

Grech Go of Manila, meanwhile, topped his class in the men's masters division over foreigner Ashton McIntyre of Thailand and fellow-Manilenyo Anton Sietereales.

Chali Bas of Hong Kong won the women's masters division title at the expense of Chamel Melo of Manila and Jane Garner of Davao City.

The event was presented by the Visit Davao Summer Festival in partnership with Crossfit Madayaw.

The event is also sponsored the Department of Tourism Davao Region, Air Asia, Globe, Cebu Pacific, Tanduay, Bonamine, Flanax, WODX and the City Government of Davao.
