Total horsemanship challenge

ALL systems are go in the 19th Davao Horse Show Competition slated October 18 to 20 at the Davao Horse Club Stables and Horse Park in Shanghai, Matina Aplaya, Davao City.

Davao Horse Club (DHC) president Chelo Tan, who was among the guests of the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at The Annex of SM City Davao, said, “We are bringing back the show jumping event that’s why the 19th edition is called the Total Horsemanship Challenge. This will be a competition of the best horses.”

The barrel race, drill team competition, obstacle race, oval race, halters class (best horse) and team presentation complete the roster of events this year.

Andrew Tan, for his part, said all races will have categories for youth, ladies, beginners, expert and auxiliary.

He said at least eight teams will see action and each team will have 80 horses from visiting clubs and 15 from the host team.

“The Davao Horse Club will field our best horses this year and hopefully we pull some winners with the show jumping event. We were the drill champion last year,” he added.
