DEFENDING champion Ateneo de Davao University (Addu) posted its second straight win in the Davao Association of Catholic Schools (Dacs) Sportsfest 2019 football competition at the Tionko field on Tuesday, September 3.

The Ivan Caiña-coached Ateneo eked out a 14-0 blowout win over San Pedro College yesterday with VJ Lagundi knocking in four goals in the sixth, 14th, 21st and 23rd minutes while Lei Paciente scored a hattrick (45th, 46th,53rd) while Kent Bacat (37th, 47th) and Naz Pascual (47th, 49th) each made a brace. Rhianne Mendoza (30th), Vianney Lagundi (43rd) and Jasper Rex Lim (58th) sealed one goal each to complete the rout.

Ateneo’ s feat came on the heels of crushing Holy Cross College of Calinan (HCCC), 13-0, Monday in the tournament that serves as qualifying for the Davao City Athletic Association (Dcaa) Meet 2019.

Against HCCC, Lagundi scored five goals while Lim added a hattrick. Luis Rendon, Pascual, Simon Guino-o, Lance Sunico and Yuan Provido accounted for one goal each.

Ateneo eyes its third victory as it will play against St. Paul College of Davao (SPCD) at 7 a.m. Wednesday.

Semifinals is set tomorrow morning while the championship game is slated in the afternoon. (MLSA)
