Wadab MCV tops Araw mountain bike race

TEAM Wadab MCV, a crack selection of riders from Davao City, Tagum City and Santo Tomas, emerged champion in the just-concluded 82nd Araw ng Dabaw mountain bike five-man team competition held in an out-and-back course from Barangay Maa.

Wadab MCV clocked a total of one hour and 45 minutes to receive a cash prize of P12,000. The team was bannered by April John Maniyog, Dion Tristan Pinton, Leyzander Rosell, Nathaniel Clark Carisma and Renie Relliquite.

The five-man event team is a composition of elite, youth 18 and below, jun-sen-vet 19 to 44, master (45-above) and fatboy riders.

Meanwhile, Allan Albutra annexed the funride category title while Lister Luad placed second and Juan Rojo, Sr. finished third. Trailing behind were Randy Ruado, Richard Gabatan and Bhenzkie Tagudan. They received medals.

In the ladies event, Melissa Jane Taroda captured the crown over Angelica Acedo and Liza Abellana.

The city government of Davao through the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office (SDD-CMO) sponsored the cash prizes, trophies and medals of the event jointly organized by Tropang Trumpo and raceLink.
