Negros Oriental’s number 4 most wanted person nabbed

ONE of the most wanted persons in Negros Oriental who is also a full-time member of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) was arrested in a combat operation in Santa Catalina town on July 17, 2022.

Nabbed was Charlie Lastimosa Saliganan, who is facing several charges in court, including three counts of murder.

The operation, labeled as “Coplan Sukarap,” was conducted by joint personnel of the 705th Maneuver Company together with Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB)-Central Visayas F2, Technical Support Company, 704th Maneuver Company, 61st Philippine National Police (PNP) Special Action Forces, Santa Catalina Municipal Police Station, Maritime Group Dumaguete City, Provincial Intelligence Unit, Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office and Regional Intelligence Unit.

The suspect was arrested in Sitio Nagbagang, Barangay Poblacion, Santa Catalina, Negros Oriental.

The PNP commended Saliganan’s arrest and vowed to continue to “suppress lawlessness in the country.”

“Your PNP will not allow the communist-terrorists blatant disregard for human rights. Let this be a manifestation of the PNP’s commitment to the attainment of the NTF-Elcac’s objectives, towards the upholding of justice and democracy in the country,” said the RMFB-Central Visayas. (LMY)
