OVER 33,000 job vacancies for local and overseas employment are up for grabs during the Peso Job Expo 2018 at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol on June 1, 2018.

The mega job fair, to be participated in by 159 companies and overseas recruitment agencies, is considered one of the biggest job fairs in Western Visayas and is expected to attract thousands of job seekers in Iloilo and nearby provinces and cities.

Jobseekers can choose career offerings among industries including manufacturing, retail, construction, bpos, banking, hotels, restaurants, and real estate. For overseas, top job orders include skilled workers, household workers, and personnel in medical and allied fields.

According to Peso chief Francisco Heler, Jr., this year’s Job Expo will also feature several trainings in line with Department of Labor and Employment and Department of Trade and Industry’s Trabaho, Negosyo, at Kabuhayan or TNK.

“We have free seminars at casa Real de Iloilo during the event. These are Pre-employment Orientation, Tourism Awareness Seminar, Basic Entrepreneurship training, and Forum on Emerging Agriculture. These are open to all interested applicants,” said Heler.

Meanwhile, special lanes and help desks will also be installed to accommodate PWDs, solo parents, Indigenous People, and Department of Social Welfare and Development-Sustainable Livelihood Program beneficiaries.

“We are also bringing in relevant government agencies in the area to assist our jobseekers in their employment concerns,” Heler added.

Jobseekers are advised to bring copies of resume and pertinent documents like school records, training and employment certificates, and passports for those applying for jobs abroad.

Peso Job Expo 2018 is a collaboration of Peso, Provincial Tourism Office, Provincial Agriculture Office, and Provincial Negosyo Center.

The event will run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (PR)
