7 ambassadors to grace Dinagyang

SEVEN ambassadors from various countries have confirmed to attend the 51st Iloilo Dinagyang Festival on January 27.

“This is the best time for us to showcase our rich culture and religious roots to foreign dignitaries. Some of them have visited several times already,” Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III said.

The confirmed guests are His Excellency Asad Alam Siam, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bangladesh; His Excellency Zhao Jianhua Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China; His Excellency Han Dong-man, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Korea; Adekunbi Abibat Sonaike-Ayodeji, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Nigeria; Aman Rashid, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Pakistan; Igor Anatolyevich Khovaev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russian Federation; and Sung Yong Kim, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America.

Zaidi Kassim, tourism attaché of Malaysia, will also attend the celebration.

Meanwhile, Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go will give a message in behalf of President Rodrigo Duterte.

“We are also expecting other delegations from international and national groups which are project partners of Iloilo City Government,” Espinosa said. (PR)
