THE new organizer will revive the old vibe of Dinagyang streetdancing and merrymaking in 2020.

The Iloilo Festivals Foundation Inc. (IFFI) set the Dagyang sa Calle Real on January 25, 2020 a day before the festival's highlight, the Dinagyang 360 tribe dance competition, on January 26, 2020.

The event will start at 8:30 a.m. after the mass at the San Jose de Placer church to JM Basa Street all the way to Solis St. and back to Plaza Libertad.

Dagyang-in-charge Phillipp Chua said IFFI will give P300,000 subsidy each to nine barangay-based tribes that will join the sadsad streetdancing.

"It will be a friendly competition. We will award the darling of the crowd, best in costume and best in performance," Chua said.

"We want it open to the public. We want the visitors to join and enjoy, not just spectators," he added. (PR)

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
