Dinagyang tour promotes Iloilo City

THE Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation, Inc. (IDFI) has kicked off its first Philippine tour at Yokohama Plant, Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga on Wednesday, February 27.

The purpose of the tour is to further promote Iloilo City tourism.

This year's Dagyang dance champion Tribu Ilonganon of Jalandoni Memorial National High School performed in Pampanga.

"Dinagyang, being considered as world-class performance, brings a message that Iloilo City, as its host, is a nice place to visit," IDFI chairman Ramon Cua Locsin said.

The 25 dancers and 15 drummers performed at Robinsons Place Angeles at 1 p.m. and SM City Pampanga at 5 p.m. of February 28.

They had a repeat performance at SM City Pampanga at 9 a.m. and SM City Baguio at 5 p.m. of March 1.

Dinagyang will perform at Panagbenga Flower Festival in Baguio City on March 2.

Dinagyang will also be showcased at Manggahan Festival in Guimaras in May, Sandugo Festival in Bohol in July, Kadayawan Festival in Davao City in August, Buglasan Festival in Dumaguete and Masskara Festival in Bacolod City in October, and Pintaflores Festival in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental in November.
