Former councilor took oath under Nacionalista Party

FORMER councilor and current special assistant for education Perla Zulueta took oath under the Nacionalista Party (NP) on Monday, October 8, at the Iloilo City Hall Penthouse 1.

It was known that Zulueta will run for congresswoman under Mayor Jose Espinosa III’s line-up. The oath taking was headed by Espinosa.

Last week, the six incumbent city councilors namely Eduardo Peñaredondo, Liezl Zulueta-Salazar, Mandrie Malabor, Lyndon Acap, Candice Tupas and Rudel Fullon Agado including Councilor R Leone Gerochi as vice mayor took oath for NP in Manila which was headed by Senator Cynthia Villar.

Zulueta said after the oath taking she has officially become a member of NP, however, her candidacy for congresswoman still needs a certificate of nomination.

According to Zulueta, their group will file the certificate of candidacy on the first day which is on October 11.

She added that they will be attending a mass at the San Jose Church before heading to the Commission on Elections for filing. (Carolyn Jane Abello)
