Iloilo City intensifies compliance to health protocols

THE Iloilo City Government advised the public to continue to practice health safety protocols such as the proper wearing of face mask and physical distancing, and not to be complacent to prevent the possible spread of Covid-19 and keep the positive cases low.

“One problem it seems that the people are crowding public places because of our low-risk level. We worry because people are forgetting the protocols. We just want to ensure that cases will not increase,” Mayor Jerry Treñas said.

City Hall has ordered the deployment of compliance teams composed of personnel of Public Safety and Transportation Management Office and Iloilo City Police Office in plazas and malls, especially on weekends.

The mayor noted that Molo Plaza has become quite “problematic that needs to be monitored every night” as crowd troops have selfies with Christmas lights or simply hang out in the area. (PR)
