THE Iloilo City Government will be extending financial assistance to local government units (LGUs) affected by the Taal eruption.

Mayor Jerry Treñas said the city will use P2 million from its Quick Response Fund to help the affected localities.

During the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council meeting on January 22, it was agreed that the City will give P1 million to the Province of Batangas and P500,000 each to the Province of Cavite and Tagaytay City.

"In this way, they can also extend help to other local government units in their area affected by eruption," Treñas said. (PR)
