Iloilo City to set up zoning office

Sunnexdesk

ILOILO City Hall will establish its own zoning office to better assist applicants in processing their documents.

"We will look for personnel for Zoning Office, separate from City Planning and Development Office. This is part of initiatives in ease of doing business because we want it easier for clients to secure and comply with requirements. In Congress, I was among the persons who authored the Ease of Doing Business Law," Mayor Jerry P. Treñas said.

He noted the Office of Building Official (OBO) reported that there are plans that are inaccurate and lacking.

Treñas will also get consensus of designers and planners.

"We will call for a meeting of four chapters of UAP (United Architects of the Philippines), the associations of engineers - electrical, mechanical, and structural, to discuss concerns on compliance with the requirements of the city for permits," he added. (PR)
