Sunnexdesk

THE Iloilo City Government is training additional applicants for contact tracers or a pool of personnel who will locate individuals possibly exposed to coronavirus disease (Covid-19) patients.

The City Hall already trained 120 persons as contact tracers.

Personnel of City Health Office, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine National Police and barangay officials were also trained in coordination with the Department of Health (DOH)-Western Visayas.

"We are still lacking, that's why we are encouraging applicants. We are distributing them on seven districts. We will also include the barangay captains, so that they will know what to do if there is identified Covid case in their respective areas," said Chiqui Blancaflor, special assistant to the mayor.

"The objective of training is to hone participant's contact tracing skills on what information is vital. It is not enough that you know the Covid patient but you have to understand the nature of their movement," she added. (PR)

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
