Kalibo Municipal Council extends business tax payment

THE Municipal Council of Kalibo has extended the deadline for the payment of business tax for the third quarter of this year.

Kalibo Vice Mayor Cynthia Dela Cruz said the Council has anonymously approved the passage of the resolution extending the payment deadline to August 30, 2021.

The Council earlier set a July 20 deadline.

The extended deadline is meant to provide business establishments a leeway in the payment of business tax due to the rising coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Kalibo.

“The resolution was filed by Councilor Mark Quimpo and was approved anonymously. This difficulty is due to a pandemic which greatly affects our economy,” Dela Cruz said.

According to the Provincial Epidemiology Surveillance Unit of the Aklan Provincial Health Office, Kalibo has registered 266 active Covid-19 cases, 1,269 recoveries and 6o deaths. (SunStar Philippines)
