Kalibo to host Visayas-wide pageantry for culture

Jun N. Aguirre

KALIBO in Aklan will host the first Visayas-wide pageantry for culture on January 13-15, 2020.

Victor Teves, organizer of the CharmAsia Entertainment Production, said preparation for the event is now underway.

“CharmAsia is an entertainment and arts venture dedicated in promoting the creativity and versatility of the rich and exotic culture and talent of the Filipinos, alongside its Asian counterparts. The venture will serve as vehicle to select benevolent community advocacies,” Teves said.

"Aside from its cultural aspect, this event is also made whimsical because of the participation of the overseas Filipino workers," he added.

The beneficiary of the project is the Lezo Integrated School, where a major fire incident occurred in December 2018 and burned some classrooms, including its library. (SunStar Philippines)

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
