Lotto operator ‘linked to drug trade,’ shot

A PROVINCE small town lottery (STL) operator was shot in Barangay Buyu-an, Tigbauan, Iloilo on March 13.

Samuel Romero Aguilar of Eaglecrest Gaming Corporation was riding a white van when an unidentified suspect fired the car around 11 a.m. Aguilar sustained multiple gunshots

Police report said that the suspect headed to the direction of Guimbal, Iloilo.

The victim was rushed and treated at the Medical City Iloilo.

According to Tigbauan Municipal Police Station Senior Inspector Hermogenes Eulatic, the two suspects were riding a motorcycle.

On the crime scene investigation, there were six empty shells of M16 and few slots of .45 caliber pistol.

The pistol slots were believed to be the return fire of the Aguilar’s guard inside the van while the M16 shells were on the streets.

Aguilar, currently on the operating room of the hospital, was deemed to be hit on the left portion of his body.

The police were currently conducting an investigation and search for the arrest of the suspect.

Aguilar was previously linked to illegal drug trade in Iloilo according to Philippine Charity Sweepstakes board member Sandra Cam.

However, it was still unclear if what were the main motive of the suspects. (Carolyn Jane Abello)
